The world-class standard and internationally recognized quality of Arabian horses are the pride of Qatar and a part of the rich heritage and traditions that belong to this part of the world, further promoted by holding the 23th National Arabian Horse Show from January 22nd to 25th 2021, in the beautiful Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab, with a first-class all-encompassing organization provided by Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club. This premier show witnessed more than 450 horses divided up in 14 categories vying for honours, reviewed and evaluated by an exclusive international panel of judges including: Mr. Reisel Gideon (Netherlands); Mr. Beste Klaus (Germany); Mr. Zaragoza Jimenez Carmelo (Spain); Mr. al-Thani Saoud (Qatar); Mr. Tarzinski Tomasz (Poland) and Mr. Rombauer Tàmas (Hungary). The smooth conduct of the competition was a major duty on a Disciplinary Commission composed of: Dr. Vet. Laura Mascagna (Italy), Mrs. Alicja Poszepczynska (Poland) and Mr. Alberto Manerba (Italy). In the arena, the impeccable Ringmaster Roberto Ceccaroni (Italy). The show kicked off on January 22nd at 8:30 and ended on January 25th at 21:30 with the following results: In the Yearling Fillies Championship, Gold medal winner the grey Is Shereen, by Gazwan al-Nasser and out of Fattam al-Nasser, bred by Al Asayel stud owned by Ebrahim bin Yusuf Alromaihi. Silver medal winner, the grey Sheihana al-Nasser by Naseem al-Rashediah and out of Al Jazi al-Nasser, bred and owned by Al-Nasser Stud. Bronze medal winner the grey Hind al-Rayyan, by Ashaal al-Rayyan and out of Or Marjuana, bred by Sheikh Hamad Ali A Al Thani and owned by Al Rayyan Farm. In the Junior Fillies Championship, Gold medal winner the grey Emarella by Sahma al-Arab and out of Emandorella, bred by SK Michalow and owned by Al Jassimiya Farm. Silver medal winner the bay Alma Al Jassim by Bandit SRA and out of Flora Hvp, bred by Sarguil Ltda and owned by Al Jassim Stud. Bronze medal winner the chestnut RK Najd Shazin by Fa El Rasheem x TF Esmeralda, bred by Shazin Società Agricola and owned by Al Shaqab Stud. In the Senior Mares Championship, Gold medal winner the grey Safira al-Dohul by Safir al-Rayyan and out of Saja al-Shaqab, bred by Mohammad Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi and owned by Al Nawasi Stud. Silver medal winner the grey Salsabil al-Nasser by Wh Justice and out of Ftyoon al-Shaqab, bred by Sheikh Nawaf Nasser KH Al Thani and owned by Al Nasser Stud. Bronze medal winner the grey Piacenza, by Qr Marc and out of Primavera, bred by SK Michalow and owned Al Shahania Stud. In the Yearling Colts Championship, Gold medal winner the grey Wadee al-Jassimiya, by Wadee al-Shaqab and out of Just Love Aljassimyia, bred and owned by Al Jassimiya Farm. Silver medal winner the chestnut Hader al-Shaqab by Enotri Eea and out of Hayam al-Shaqab, bred and owned by Al Shaqab Stud. Bronze medal winner the bay Gazwan al-Sraiya by Fadi al-Shaqab and out of Bidaya al-Sraiya, bred and owned by Al Sraiya Stud. In the Junior Colts Championship, Gold medal winner the bay Amir al-Reeh by Fadi al-Shaqab and out of Zahira al-Zobair, bred and owned by Al Reeh Stud. Silver medal winner the grey Lamy al-Shaqab, by Sma Magic One and out of Rasha al-Shaqab, bred and owned by Al Shaqab Stud. Bronze medal winner the chestnut Halul al-Khor, by Excalibur Ea & Psl First Light, bred and owned by Al Khor Stud. In the Senior Stallions Championship, Gold medal winner the bay Badiea al-Nasser by Rfi Farid and out of Aliah al-Nasser, bred by Al Nasser Stud and owned by Al Jumail Stud. Silver medal winner the bay Luigi by Kanz al-Bidayer and out of Lolita, bred by Saelens D and owned by Al Majidah Farm. Bronze medal winner the bay Gazwan al-Nasser by Gazal al-Shaqab and out of Ftoon al-Shaqab, bred by Sheikh Nawaf Bin Nasser Al Thani and owned by Nasser Mohammed Mesfer Al Hajri. CONCLUSION: The predominance of Qatar on the world stage in terms of equine breeding dates long back in history, it was not born yesterday, and its outstanding quality was carefully observed and fully appreciated again at this 23rd edition, holding the importance of the Arabian horse legacy and the country heritage always close to the heart of Qatari breeders and citizens.
