Milan Cup 2017

On the 29th and 30th April the much-awaited International B competition ‘MILAN ARABIAN HORSES SHOW’ took place in Gorla Minore near Milan. Organized by Arabite Organization, the show involved the participation of some of the most beautiful Arabian horses in the world. The event was an important stage of the “Italian Show Tour 2017” along with Palermo, Roccalumera, Pietrasanta, Manerbio, Rome, Montefalco, Capo d’Orlando, Bergamo, Città di Castello and Brescia. This year too the manifestation dedicated to this noble creature was held within the equestrian complex ‘EQUIEFFE’. After the great success back in 2016, Arabite Organization selected - for its second consecutive year - this beautiful and super equipped structure that boasts 400 boxes provided with water fountains and night lighting, hot showers, restaurant, self-service, bar, an indoor field and two outdoor fields in order to host as it did – also the fourth edition of the ‘ITALIAN NATIONAL STRAIGHT EGYPTIAN CHAMPIONSHIP reserved to specimens of the straight Egyptian breed, and that, unfortunately, could not be held last year on the archaeological site of Paestum for reasons well known to everybody... The competition was open to all holders of a WAHO passport. A new addition was the inclusion of the ‘Milan Cup Trophy’ that was awarded to the horse getting the highest score in ‘type’ and ‘movement’. The event took place outdoor in the 5-star central field made of sand which to date is one of the best in Europe. The Contest was governed by the E.C.A.H.O. rules, it was affiliated with A.n.i.c.a. and hosted an international panel of five judges. There intervened: Mr. Rota Pierluigi (ITA); Mrs. Stefaniuk Anna (POL); Mr. Everars Josy (BEL); Mr. Daniels Jason (USA); Mr. Ceddes Bakker (NDL). Excellent the job done by the Disciplinary Committee ably composed by: Dr. Vet. Teobaldelli Gian Paolo; Mr. Manerba Alberto and Mrs. Raso Barbara. Impeccable in his role of Ringmaster, Mr. Ludi Ivo; Official speaker and General Secretary, Dr. Vet. Mascagna Laura. The participating Categories were all fascinating. The Final Championships entertained the audience on the edge of their seat throughout the show until the best champions of each category were awarded. As for the Yearling Fillies Category, Gold medal winner the refined gray D FEDDAH (SHANGHAI EA x D JOWAN) bred and owned by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud. Silver medal winner the chestnut ODISSEA D E L FALCO (AMG DALII x ZARA BY MIAL) bred and owned by AZIENDA NARDINI MARCO. Bronze medal winner the gorgeous black MARNICA (MARTICE x MARNI BY WINDSPREES MIRAGE) bred and owned by Sax Arabians. As for the Yearling Colts, the Gold medal went to the gray TF ANDRUS (FADI AL SHAQAB x TF LADY ROYAL) bred and owned by TRIPODI FRANCESCO. Silver medal winner the bay LAZEEZ AL SHAHANIA (EKS ALIHANDRO x ZT MAKBEY) bred by Al Shahania Stud and owned by MICHAEL COMBETTE. Bronze medal winner, the bay GW AMADEUS (AL MARAAM x FAVOLA LC) bred and owned by GONDOLA VILMA. Next to go were the Juniors Categories. Gold Champion Junior Fillies the bay PALTONA K.A. (TRUSSARDI x PROXIMA WHITE) bred by NV ZOUTEKREKEN & GHEYSENS PAUL and owned by BLOISI FRANCO. Silver medal winner the bay AZIZA DOMITIC (EKS ALIHANDRO x MG SWEET FANTASY) bred by Flavie and Scott Allman and owned by SHIREEN AL MUTAWA. Bronze medal winner the chestnut HAJER AL SHAQAB (MARWAN AL SHAQAB x LUBNA AL SHAQAB) bred and owned by Al Shaqab Stud. Entirely dominated by the ‘bay color’ the Junior Colts Championship was won by the very handsome MABEL STAR K.A. (PSYTADEL x MARC’S STAR K.A.) bred and owned by KNOCKE ARABIANS. Silver medal winner, QS MARZIO (EMERALD J x NAWAL BY APOLO) bred and owned by MORANDO GIOVANNI’S QIRAT STUD. Bronze medal winner, EL SHAAN (MARSHAN x ELENA BINT EUROPE) bred by REINHARD SAX and owned by Sax Arabians. The Show drew to a close with the Seniors Mares and Stallions Categories whose performances appeared so awe-inspiring under the evening lights of the arena. The beautiful gray mare NESJ EL MARKHISA (MARWAN AL SHAQAB x NESJ EL KHISAYA) bred by MR. & MRS. EVERARS - VAN DEN BROEK and owned by Said Khair Stables won the Gold medal in a blaze of glory! Silver medal winner the gray CA LEENA (WH JUSTICE x CA ZASPA) bred by Calbar Arabians and owned by FALCON ARABIANS AND ULRICASDAL ARABIANS. Bronze medal winner the bay AV DOHASSAI (MASSAI IBN MARENGA x AV DOIMHA) bred by VALLE ARABA DEI F.LLI SANCHI S.S. and owned by Woody Arabians. The Stallions Championship was won by the outstanding bay SA FAEZ SIMBAD (AJMAN MONISCIONE x ALTAM NUR SIMBAD HEC) bred and owned SCIPIONI ANGELO. Silver medal winner the chestnut MP RITZIUS (AJMAN MONISCIONE x BF ANUSKA) bred and owned by PITTALUGA MARCO. Bronze medal winner the gray BEBARS FARID (IMPERIAL BAAREZ x SALMA) bred and owned by El Farida Stud. The 2017 edition of the Milan International B Show also hosted the fourth edition of the Egyptian Event and the Futurity Championships. The EGYPTIAN EVENT was won by the elegant gray RAJA DE PIGALL (FA NILE SAFIR x GREA RAYANA) bred and owned by Az Ortof of Pigato Graziano as for the Junior Fillies Category; by the bay ROYAL ALABINA bred by Hiflel AvI and Yehezkel Yaron Bat Yam, owned by Hiflel AvI and Yehezkel Yaron Mizrahi Meir Kazaz Shom as for the Junior Colts Category and by the stunning straight Egyptian stallion NASSER FANA (AL ADEED TO SHAQAB x SL PHARIDA) bred and owned by DIONISI ANTONIO AZ. AGR. as for the Stallions Category. The Championships dedicated to the ‘new promises’ of the breed - the Futurity Categories - gave the following results. As for the Females, Gold medal winner the very pretty chestnut TF AMELIE (EKS ALIHANDRO x ZT SHAKLIE) bred and owned by TRIPODI FRANCESCO AZ. AGR, whilst the adorable little bay QATAR DI MAR (PSYRASIC x PRINCIPESSA OF MAR) owned by Cristina C.’ SOC. AGR. TRE STELLE S.A.S. grabbed the Gold medal as for the Males. The Best in Show Trophy was assigned to the already Gold Champion grey mare NESJ EL MARKHISA (MARWAN AL SHAQAB x NESJ EL KHISAYA) bred by MR. & MRS. EVERARS - VAN DEN BROEK and owned by Said Khair Stables. Again this year, the Milan International B Show has given us goose bumps on two fabulous days surrounded by the sensational beauty, elegance and charisma of our beloved Arabian horses. Thanks to Mr. Emanuele Fiorelli, International Knight and Federal Instructor whose hard work, endless dedication and passion has made it possible again in 2017 the availability of a fantastic equestrian center such as Equieffe Equestrian Center. Therefore, many thanks to Arabite Organization directed by Claudio Mazza who dealt with the whole technical and organizational part of the event.
