This year, the city of Pietrasanta, known as the international capital of sculpture and artistic marble and bronze processing, celebrated a real rebirth after months of darkness and suffering. And it did so in the name of Nature and Beauty with the highly anticipated twentieth edition of the international competition devoted to the pure-bred Arabian horse "L'Arte del Cavallo," promoted by the Municipality of Pietrasanta and the Versiliana Foundation, coordinated by Luciano Borzonasca, sponsored by the Tuscany Region, by E.c.a.h.o. (European Conference of Arab Horse Organization and A.n.i.c.a (Italian National Association of the Arabian Horse), and held in the luxuriant Versiliana pine forest. The equestrian competition which last year got cancelled due to the pandemic returned to offer - between fun and agonism - the opportunity to see by close authentic and noble steeds as absolute protagonists of a show having as its primary purpose the promotion of the ancient culture of the Arabian horse in which legends and tales, the myth of a strong, fast, and beautiful horse gets revived.
For the twentieth edition, the Manifesto of the "Arte del Cavallo" got entrusted to the Italian master Antonio Signorini, an internationally renowned sculptor from Castagneto Carducci, who boasts a brilliant and prestigious career studded with exhibitions in the most important galleries in the world and has been cooperating with the foundries of Pietrasanta for some time. The city authorities also took part in the event, including Mayor Alberto Stefano Giovannetti, the President of the Versiliana Foundation Alfredo Benedetti, and the councillors Francesca Bresciani and Matteo Marcucci.
Over 1,500 spectators took turns in the stands set up in the Versiliana park to watch the performances of the elegant steeds. In addition to the on-site attendance, approximately twenty thousand spectators watched the event through the Arabian Essence Web TV, which filmed and broadcast the event in its entirety, reaching fans from all over the world.
Ninety Arabian specimens of international origin performed on the competition field presented by their respective handlers and scored by an international jury composed of Mr Moschini Christian (Italy); Mrs Weidner Michaela (Germany); Mr Reisel Gideon (Netherlands), and Mr Santoro Francesco (Italy).
Disciplinary Commissioners: Mr Teobaldelli Gian Paolo (Italy); Mr Di Salvo Andrea (Italy) and Ms Raso Barbara (Italy). Ringmaster: Malerba Alberto (Italy). Music by Filippi Gianluca (Italy). Official photographer: Sunita Sassudelli (Italy).
The show began on Saturday, 29th May at 10:00 (Europe / Rome) and ended on Sunday, 30th May at 23:00 (Europe / Rome) with the solemn award ceremony for the champions of this twentieth edition:

The twentieth edition of the "Arte del Cavallo" ended with a well-deserved triumph. Mayor Alberto Stefano Giovannetti made a point of clarifying to all participants that insiders had continued working tirelessly on the construction, organization and coordination of the event in the previous months. Aware that a lot would have depended on the trend of the pandemic and the gradual return to normal. But they were very good at adapting to the emergency of the moment. The show ran quite smoothly in a festive, at times, goliardic atmosphere. After all, Life has always been their perspective. In the city of Pietrasanta, morphological events have always represented an added value to the entire tourist, cultural and commercial proposal in support of the local companies and the territory. The months to come will be crucial to get it back on track. But in the beautiful city of art, there are already very encouraging signs of recovery and revitalization!
