Kuwait’s growing presence as an international destination for Arabian horses has always received great support from all over the world. Held under the patronage of H.H. Emir of Kuwait Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the 8th Kuwait International Arabian Horse Championship was attended by a fair number of people who represented every major continent with involvement in Arabian horses, but also guests and tourists from Europe to see horses of the finest purebred Arabian breed competing for various prizes and recognition. This gave the finishing touch to a really well organized and time-managed show. As many as seven judges were called to manage a competition that appeared fascinating just by reading the program. They were, in order: Mr. Koenraad Detailleur (Belgium); Mr. Nashaat Hegazi (Egypt); Mr. Robbie Den Hartog (Netherlands); Mrs. Ann Norden (Sweden); Mr. Thomas Stohler (Switzerland); Mrs. Anna Stojanowska (Poland) and Mrs. Michaela Weidner (Germany). They were delighted by the overall quality of the horses they witnessed during the two day event, and declared they had enjoyed judging and working with the organizing team of the show and expressed their respect for the Arabian horse breeders and owners in Kuwait for their enthusiasm and passion. The Disciplinary Committee was composed by: Mrs. Line Brunsgaard (Denmark); Mrs. Christine Keyser (Norway); Mr. Kaies Ouelhazi (Uni-ted Arab Emirates); Mr. Hayati Eroz (Kuwait). In the role of Ringmasters: Mr. Peter Hegemann (Germany). Results and Livestream by Mr. Michaël Steurs (Belgium). For AHM pictures were taken by Mr. Antonio De Martino. THE FINAL CHAMPIONSHIPS The elevated Kuwaiti hospitality was appreciated by those in attendance and certainly added to the charm of the event. The Final Championships gave the following results. The Yearling Filly Gold Champion was BALLERINNA (RFI FARID X JOYV) bred by Fuda Ali and owned by Aldanat Stud. The Yearling Filly Silver Champion was DORRA AL HADDAD (D MERAS X DURRAT ALKHAMISS) bred and owned by Abdulaziz Nader Abdullah Haddad. The Yearling Filly Bronze Champion was MARAMI AL ANWAAR (WADEE AL SHAQAB X PF NAOMI) The Yearling Colt Gold Champion was RENIOR DI MAR (RFI FARID X ISABEAU DI MAR OS) bred by Franchini Marco and owned by Aldanat Stud. The Silver was earned by TURKI AL BAYDAA (RFI FARID X TURKIZ AA) bred by Al Baydaa Stud and owned by Mai Ahmed Abdullah Bozuber. Finally, the Bronze was earned by ARCAN ALARTAL (JASSAR AL JASSAR x SHAHAMAH BANAT AL REE) bred by Bader Hmoud Aloush Almutairi and owned by Fahad Saud Almajdali. The Junior Filly Gold Champion was D SHOWF (FA EL RASHEEM x D SAHABAH) bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and owned by Abdulaziz Al Shuraiaan. The Silver was earned by SS DAMA PIK (EMERALD J x DONNA DIVA) Bred by Stigler Stud - Irina Stigler and owned by Abdullah Hussain Sadah. The Bronze went to MB VIVYANNA (LAWRENCE EL GAZAL x VICTORYA FHP) bred by Michael Byatt and owned by Mai Ahmed Abdullah Bozuber. The Junior Colt Gold Champion was AMAAR (RFI FARID x ADIYA) bred by Mohammad Abjad Mohammad Albutti and owned by Aljuman Stud. The Silver was earned by DASALI (FA EL RASHEEM x ELLE FLAMENCA) bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and owned by Al Bariq Arabians; while the Bronze went to D KAHEEL (FA EL RASHEEM x D MUWADAH) bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and owned by Ahmad Abdulaziz Albabtain. The Senior Females are always a show highlight - and the quality of the competition was high. However, on Championship day, it was AIJANA OS (AJMAN MONISCIONE x MIKAELLA PIN), who is bred by bred by Gestut Osterhof and owned by Mai Ahmed Abdullah Bozuber that became the Senior Mare Gold Champion. The Silver was earned by SALMAH AL SHGAIR (F SHAMAAL x JAWAHARAH AL RABIA A) bred by Bdul Mohsen Bin Abdul Malik Al Shaikh and owned by Ali Matar Al Wawan. Finally, the Bronze went to ALI MATAR AL WAWAN (FADI AL-SHAQAB x MAGNOLIA APAL) bred by Athbah Stud and owned by HRH Prince Abdulaziz Bin Ahmad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Senior Male Gold Medal was earned by AJA ANGELO (WH JUSTICE x AJA AAISHA) bred by Mr & Mrs Hickford and owned by Mai Ahmed Abdullah Bozuber. The Silver went to VAN GOGH AM (MAGNUM PSYCHE x YNAZIA HCF) bred by Sally Bedeker and owned by Khalid Alnughaimish; while the Bronze was earned by NAYROUZ AL MAI (HASMAN GYO x CONGA O) bred and owned by Mai Ahmed Abdullah Bozuber. Following the show, a stud tour including a visit to Bait Al Arab Kuwait State Stud and to some well-known private breeders who presented their breeding programs provided another highlight and attracted many Arabian horse lovers from Kuwait, the Middle East and abroad. Visitors from the USA, Italy, France, Poland, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, the U.A.E., and Saudi Arabia attended the show, enjoyed Kuwait hospitality and watched a beautiful even, which was only made possible by the admirable cooperation of the breeders and horse owners who entered their valuable Arabians for the show, and with the generous support of H.H. the Emir of Kuwait, Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the Hunting & Equestrian Club’s board of Directors as well as numerous sponsors.
