The 50th edition of the Al Dhafrah Arabian Horse Championship took place in Al Mirfa Corniche, a picturesque coastal community in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafrah region. To enhance the UAE's global position in heritage preservation, the Championship is organized by the Emirates Arabian Horse Society, which is led by Mohamed Ahmed Alharbi and is also patronized by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. At this time of year, local breeders and owners are proud to showcase their top purebred Arabian horses born in this region of the world, and this event showcased their top breeding programs. Ten judges predominantly from Middle Eastern countries evaluated a large group of highly trained specimens competing for national recognition: Mr Hammad Alaa (Bahrain), Mr AlMakrani Ali (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Mr Jadaan Basil (Syria), Mr Alotaibi Fahad Mutlak (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Mr Al Mesbah Jassim (Kuwait), Mr Mohsen Mahmoud (Egypt), Mr Badrawy Mohamed (Egypt), Mr Alghaithtt Nasser (Kuwait), Mr AlHusseini Sufian Taha (Palestine) and Mr Al Hattali Sulaiman (Oman). Under the leadership of Dr Abdel Wahab Ben Ali Amira, Head of the Disciplinary Committee, the DC comprised of Mr Fouad Mamdouh Hassan (Egypt), Mr Tayfour Haitham Babiker (United Arab Emirates), Mr Ouelhazi Kaies Bin Hadi (United Arab Emirates), Mrs Zouaghi Farah, Dr Albogamiy Noorah and Dr Alkatheeri Dalal. In their capacity as Ringmasters, Dr Mohammed Hammad and Mr Eida Almenhali. The Championship got commented both in English by Mr Eric Blaak and Arabic by Mr Mohammed Abu Bakr. The event was also attended by photographer Morhaf Al Assaf. The show began on January 19, 2022, at 14:00 Asia/Dubai (11:00 Europe/Rome) and ended on January 24, 2022, at 02:00 Asia/Dubai (23:00 Europe/Rome) with the following results: In the Yearling Fillies Championship, Gold medal winner the grey Hazal Alzobair (D Mishary x Aajilah al-Zobair) bred by Sheikh Adulla Bin Mohammed Ali al-Thani and owned by Khalaf Al-Otaiba. Silver medal winner, the bay D Selmeyyah (D Seraj x D Salma) bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and owned by RAS Al-Khaimah Arabian Horse Stud. Bronze medal winner, the bay Asayel Alabadla (Shahwan al-Hawajer x Mazyonat Al-Hawajer) bred and owned by Abdel Rahman Mohamed Butti Ali Al-Abdouli. In the Junior Fillies Championship, Gold medal winner the grey M.O Jawharah (Fa El Rasheem x D Athman) bred and owned by Ahmed Khalaf Alotaiba. Silver medal winner the grey Sahabah BHM (Alexxanderr x Sara BHM) bred and owned by Ali Ghanem Ali Humaila Al Mazrouei. Bronze medal winner the bay JS Raneem (E.S Harir x D Na'amah) bred and owned by Al Juwaher Arabian Horse Stud. In the Senior Mares Championship, Gold medal winner the chestnut D Hala (BS Raeed x Rohara Hallmarc) bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and owned Abdulla al-Khajeh. Silver medal winner the bay D Randah (Fa El-Rasheem x D Shahira) bred Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and owned by Mohamed Al-Suwaidi. Bronze medal winner the grey Flaminga MS (Esparto x Forminga) bred by Michalow Stud and owned by Tala Humaid Mohammed Humaid Al-Maskari. In the Yearling Colts Championship, Gold medal winner the bay Sarab al-Maha (Kahhelan al-Maha x AJ Lamess) bred and owned by Al Maha Arabian Horse Stud. Silver medal winner the grey Fahad Yas (Gall of Shanghai x Gharnoga Al Hawajer) bred and owned by Bakeet Noubi Al-Ketbi. Bronze medal winner the grey RJ Almuhib (Fam Ward x Seher Al-Jamal) bred and owned by Ali Nanoos Al-Shemeili In the Junior Colts Championship, Gold medal winner the grey Asha'Al Al E'zz (Fa El-Rasheem x AZ Houranah) bred and owned by Al E'zz Arabian Horse Stud. Silver medal winner the bay JS Al-Sultan (Fa El-Rasheem x D Khattafah) bred by Sharif Al-Baidhaei and owned by Al Juwaher Arabian Horse Stud. Bronze medal winner the chestnut R.A.K. Marwan (Fa El-Rasheem x D Husnah) bred and owned by Al-Khaimah Arabian Horse Stud. In the Senior Stallions Championship, Gold medal winner the chestnut Melih Al-Zobair (Fa El-Rasheem x HCE Magdonna) bred by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Ali Al-Thani and owned by Gulfa Arabian Horse Stud. Silver medal winner the bay Yas BHM (Kahil Al-Shaqab x Caterina FM) bred and owned by Al Mazrouei. Bronze medal winner the grey Mogeb Athbah (Fadi Al-Shaqab x Sadeem Athbah) bred by Athbah Stud and owned by Mohammed Ahmed Abdullatif Ahmed al-Ali. In the Middle East, even if the new generations are less numerous than their elders, all of them are strongly passionate about an activity that must continue despite the difficulties of the moment. The year of the competitions has just begun. The future is to tell ourselves that we must continue to develop all together…
